Maryland Horse Council Foundation

About MHC Foundation

The Maryland Horse Council is a registered 501(c)3 that was formed to support and enhance the lives of horses in Maryland.  In 2017, the Maryland Horse Council developed the concept for the Maryland Equine Transition Service (METS), which helps find new homes for horses in need of transition. In 2018, the Arnall Family Foundation/The Right Horse Initiative awarded MHC a three-year grant to get the program off the ground, and METS became the first program of its kind to be taken on by a state-wide horse council. In 2019, MHC created the MHC Foundation (MHCF) to house the METS program and other charitable initiatives. In 2022, the operation of METS was transferred to Days End Farm Horse Rescue, and MHCF is a proud sponsor of METS within DEFHR. Please visit the METS website at for more information.
